Our aim is to keep the art of carving stone by hand alive and bring it to the general public. We teach a foundation course for beginners with no experience and always welcome new members.
Thank you to all who supported the 2023 Stone Carving Festival. It was a fantastic weekend filled with 40 carvers from across the UK and Europe, excellent live music, entertainers, fantastic food, stone carving demos, Southern Stone Stall, Steven Travis Tools and blacksmithing demos by Rudi Holmes. We would particularly like to thank all those that supported the auction of artwork, Halifax Minster for hosting the event and Marshalls for providing the excellent quality stone. Free Taster Session
All are welcome to try the ancient craft of carving at a FREE introductory session. Contact us to arrange your free workshop tour and practical session.
Foundation Course
Complete our 8 weeks introductory course. You will become competent at basic relief carving techniques and safe workshop use. £15 per session.
Membership
Membership is open to all with an interest in stone carving and who are willing to support the aims of the Association. Membership fees are currently £25 a month for full use of the workshop and access to further in-house courses, talks, visits and events.
